DIY - Coconut & Honey Lip Scrub
If you're looking for a quick and effective way to rid yourself of dry, flaky, chapped lips then look no further because you've found it!
This DIY Coconut & Honey lip scrub (via Hairspray and Heels) has quickly become a favourite of mine for a lot of reasons. It's really effective, inexpensive, easy to whip up, and if all that wasn't enough it also smells (and tastes) great! Bonus points for the win!
Ready to get started? Chances are you already have all of the ingredients you need to mix up a batch in your kitchen. If you're missing any of the ingredients a quick trip to your local grocery store will be in order.
Ingredients
1 Tbsp. Coconut Oil
1 Tbsp. Honey
2 Tbsps. Sugar
*Note*
The original recipe also calls for 1/2 Tbsp. of luke warm water, but I opted to omit it as my mixture was already fairly liquidy.
Step 1 - Place 1 Tbsp. of coconut oil & 1 Tbsp. of honey in a small microwave safe dish.

Optional: Pop your mixture in the microwave for 5-10 seconds. This will make mixing the coconut oil and honey together easier especially if your honey has crystallized like mine had.
Step 2 - Mix the coconut oil and honey together well.
Step 3 - Add 2 Tbsps. of sugar and stir well.

*Note*
I would recommend letting the mixture sit for a few minutes (say about 5 minutes) to ensure you're mixture is the right consistency. I noticed that after the mixture had been sitting for a few minutes there was a layer of coconut oil floating on the top. I simply poured off the excess oil and my mixture was perfect.
Step 4 - Apply the mixture to your lips in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes.
Step 5 - Rinse the mixture off your lips using warm water.
Step 6 - Enjoy your freshly soft lips!
The mixture should hold for about 2 weeks if kept refrigerated.

Now you can save your dollars and spend them on some new lipstick instead! ;)
